NIFT 2018 exam dates have been decided. National Institute of Fashion Technology (NIFT) is an institute that open doors for the students who want to make their careerin fashion technology. NIFT provide many opportunities to the students by offering bachelor’s and master’s courses in design and fashion technology. In a year only one chance to appear in the exam is given to the interested candidates.
There are different courses that NIFT offer in their campus at UG and PG level such as bachelor of Design (B.Des), bachelor of Fashion Technology (B.F.Tech), master of Fashion Management (MFM), master of Design (M.Des),Master Fashion Technology (M.F.Tech).
NIFT Application Form 2018
From the first week of November 2017, online application form will be available. Students can only fill the form online. ForNIFT 2018, the institute will not accept any printed application form. If candidates fail to meet the deadline for filling the form then he has to pay late fee of Rs. 5000/- in addition to the application form. When the procedure to fill the form will be completed then applicants can take print of filled-in application for references. For the future help candidates must keep proof of payment.
GEN/OBC (Non-Creamy layer) have to pay Rs 1500 and SC/ST/PHP category need to pay 750. Fees can be paid in two ways that are Credit/Debit Card and Demand Draft.
Demand draft should be made in favor of “NIFT HO” payable in New Delhi. Candidates who will pay the fee through DD have to send the duly completed application along with DD to the given address:

Syllabus of GAT for B.F.Tech, MFM, M.F.Tech includes:-
- Quantitative Ability
- Communication Ability & English Comprehension
- Analytical & Logical Ability
- General Knowledge & Current Affairs & Case Study.
Creative Ability Test (CAT) for B.Des&M.Des evaluates the new and creative skill of the applicants in designing. Testing for candidate’s skills for material handling and innovative ability is done through Situation test for B.Des.
NIFT 2018 Exam Pattern
Candidates have to follow the NIFT exam pattern that includes GAT, CAT & GD/PI. GAT that is known as General Ability Test is the written form of test for all five courses that institute offers. Students should keep in mind that GAT is the first test for selection in NIFT for B.Eds. andM.Des courses. Then after clearing all these tests candidates have to qualify the CAT (Creative Ability Test). If students pass all these tests then he will allowed for Situation Test (in case of B.Des) and GD/PI (in case of M.Des).
General Ability Test (GAT) is the written test for all the 5 courses offered by NIFT. For B.Des and M.Des courses, GAT is the first test for selection in NIFT. After GAT, B.Des&M.Des aspirants are required to qualify the CAT (Creative Ability Test). Candidates who will qualify both the written tests will be eligible for Situation Test (in case of B.Des) and GD/PI (in case of M.Des).
For all courses the examination will be conducted in offline mode.For B.Des&M.Descandidates will be given 2 hours for completing the GAT written test. For B.F.Tech, MFM &M.F.Tech) three hours will be given. In examination 100 questions will be there for B.Des, whereas 120 questions will be asked for M.Des. The question paper will be set in English only. There is a plus point that will be no negative
