Aajeevika Grameen Express Yojana is for special focus on women, for self help and empowerment.
The ministry of rural development will launch a new scheme under the scheme of Deendayal Antyodaya Yojana –National Rural Livelihoods Mission (DAY-NRLM)
This scheme is very helpful for women because this yojana specially make for women The Ministry has announced that AGEY will soon be implemented in 250 blocks across the country for a fixed time period of 3 years from 2017-18 to 2019-20. “This will provide safe, affordable and community-monitored rural transport services like e-rickshaws, three and four wheeler motorised transport vehicles to connect remote villages with key services and amenities including access to markets, education and health for the overall economic development of the area,” the minister said.
Main objectives of Aajeevika Grameen Express Yojana
The main purposes of Aajeevika Grameen Express Yojana to provides useful alternative source of livelihoods to the members of self help groups (SHGs) under (DAY-NRLM). Providing safety, community mentioned facility of operating public rural transport services like rickshaw puller.
Easy connectivity of rural remote areas with all the facilities by (AGEY) to access markets, health economy and education developed of the area.
The government would provide financiall support under the AGEY in the form of Revolving Fund and Community Investment Funds. This fund would be given as grants to the Self Help Groups (SHGs) and their members/partnership. So far, Central govt. has released a total amount of Rs. 1815 crore to about 3.96 lakh SHGs. One option is to invites given the sub-scheme the Community Based Organisation (CBO) giving interest free loan from its own corpus to Self Help Group member for purpose in the vehicles.
Its helps focus on women empowerment and livelihoods for women in the rural areas.
